The fleece  of the Habsburgs (1566-1718)

Catalog of minutiae, pure copper and rich or poor fleece issues made in the kingdom of Castilla y León, from the monetary reform of Felipe II in 1566 until the assimilation to the kingdom of the States and monetary systems of Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia, in 1718.

More than 2,750 varieties of authentic coins are cataloged -not counting a few hundred period counterfeits-, distributed among 636 different types, corresponding to 20 reforms and/or official monetary series in the territories -peninsular or not- of the Castilian kingdom- Leonese, including America.

In 2022 the second catalog of the collection was published:

Íñigo Jarabo-Herrero (Bilbao, 1967)

Numismatic researcher. Degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Deusto. Specialist in the identification and cataloging of the coins of the Castilian Crown of modern and contemporary times.


Xavier Sanahuja-Anguera (Reus, 1969)

Numismatic researcher. Doctor in Geography and History from the University of Lleida. Full member of the Catalan Society of Numismatic Studies (Institut d'Estudis Catalans, Barcelona) since 1995.
